Science Sparring Society
After reading a tweet from Frank Swain about fights from the history of science, Sam decided that another podcast was exactly what the world needed and Science Sparring Society was born. In about 15 minutes an episode, SSS focused on moments when science, and mathematics, left the lab and entered the boxing ring. Some of the bouts included:
- Edward Drinker Cope vs. Othniel Charles Marsh in The Bone Wars
- Shapely vs. Curtis and the ‘Great Debate’ about the shape of the universe
- Priestly vs. Lavoisier vs. Scheele and the discovery of oxygen
- DNA, who was found it and who got the credit
- Cantor vs. Kronecker and the sizes of infinity
